Mr. Pro Sports Heckler Guy…

April 20, 2009

This past weekend was pretty amazing for sports fans across ChicaGo. The Bulls beat Boston, the Cubs beat the Cardinals, the White Sox beat the Rays and the Blackhawks beat the Flames.

If your team got their ass kicked by one of those teams……that’s life, get over it.

I know…when you were a kid, more often than not parents, teachers and coaches touted the mantra “everyone’s a winner”. Well, we’re all adults now and we know that’s bullshit…..for every winner there’s a loser. Unfortunately, life is just like sports in a lot of ways….mainly because there tends to be a lot more losers than winners.

Luckily in life there aren’t angry and disgruntle fans there to defame, embarrass, disrespect and curse you out when you’re losing. But it’s another story when it comes to sports….

Imus Has Been Fired…

April 12, 2007

MSNBC just announced it will no longer simulcast Don Imus’ radio show.
According to TMZ, MSNBC released the following statement:

Effective immediately, MSNBC will no longer simulcast the “Imus in the Morning” radio program. This decision comes as a result of an ongoing review process, which initially included the announcement of a suspension. It also takes into account many conversations with our own employees. What matters to us most is that the men and women of NBC Universal have confidence in the values we have set for this company. This is the only decision that makes that possible. Once again, we apologize to the women of the Rutgers basketball team and to our viewers. We deeply regret the pain this incident has caused.”

"Nappy Headed Hos"…

April 9, 2007

…is the phrase Don Imus, the host of MSNBC’s Imus in the Morning, used to refer to the Rutgers University women’s basketball team on the April 4th edition of his show. Oh yeah, this is after the show’s executive producer, Bernard McGuirk, called the team “hard-core hos.” McGuirk later compared the NCAA women’s basketball championship game between Rutgers and Tennessee to the movie School Daze by Spike Lee, going on to say it was like “The Jigaboos vs. The Wannabees.”

I mean damn…did they forget that they were on the air? Why half-step Imus?…you might as well do your show with a burning cross in the background while wearing a Klan hood made out of a Confederate Flag. Some people are saying he should be fired for his comments, while others are saying he has a right to say what he wants. What do you think?
